India on Wednesday test-fired from a defence base in Orissa its submarine-launched missile (SLBM) K-15 from a land-based launcher, defence sources said. It is said to be its first kind. It was test fired successfully from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Orrisa. It can carry up to 1 tonne and the range is test fired at 700 kms. Todays test was conducted to check speed, trajectory, azimuth and other parameters of the missile. When compared to other missiles it is larger than boyh Agni-I and Prithvi. Around 3000 people were evacuated from the place in order to test fire the Missile.
